At our core, we are passionate bird hunters, and that love for the sport has evolved into our greatest passion—dog training. We believe there's no better companion in the field or more effective conservation tool than a well-trained dog. The difference between a dog with natural instincts and one that’s expertly trained is clear. We hold our dogs to the highest standards, and we bring that same dedication to every dog we train.
Our journey began with our first hunting partner, Reed. Ron took on the challenge of training Reed from day one, using books, videos, and guidance from experienced mentors. To keep Reed’s skills sharp, Ron started running hunt tests during the off-season. Now, at 10 years old, Reed is still a formidable hunting partner and proudly holds the title of Grand Master Hunting Retriever. Ron’s passion for training dogs led Wendy to get involved in hunt tests as well, where she trained her own dog, Waylyn, to achieve the Master Hunting Retriever title at just 3 years old. Our business began when a fellow hunter, impressed by Reed’s exceptional performance, asked us to train their dog. This request sparked our journey of sharing our skills and knowledge with others, and we’ve been training dogs ever since.​
We are proud, active members of a retriever club in New Jersey. We participate regularly in club training sessions and test days to simulate real hunting environments. Both of us are NAHRA Field Test Judges, and we actively engage in NAHRA & HRC hunt tests, continuing to learn and grow as trainers.​ We understand that dog training is an evolving process. There is no "one-size-fits-all" approach, and we train each dog individually, based on their unique needs and personality. Whether it's through hands-on experience, books, seminars, or consulting with mentors, we are always striving to be the best trainers possible—helping your dog reach their full potential.​ We’ve trained our own dogs from day one, and we can’t wait to do the same for yours.
