OUR TRAINING PROGRAM
Building Your Dream Hunting Partner, One Step at a Time

THE FORCE FETCH PROCESS
The force fetch process develops a reliable retrieve to hand and reinforces the commands “hold” and “fetch”; preventing run-away cripples in the field. Owners will be shown how to reinforce these commands in the field to use as needed.
Force fetch is implemented in a clear, progressive manner so each dog fully understands the process before advancing. Training incorporates bumpers, bird dummies, and real birds to properly transition to feathers and realistic hunting scenarios.
This step is essential in producing a dependable, polished hunting companion.
FORMAL OBEDIENCE AND E-COLLAR CONDITIONING
All dogs begin with a comprehensive evaluation (usually between 6 months and 1 year of age) to assess temperament, drive, and overall readiness for training. From there, we build a strong foundation through formal obedience, including sit, here, heel, and recall, along with whistle commands and proper e-collar conditioning.
Our program is structured to develop reliability and consistency. Each dog progresses at an appropriate pace based on maturity, comprehension, and individual temperament. Establishing clear communication and dependable obedience creates the foundation necessary for advanced bird dog work and a confident, responsive hunting companion.

HANDLING AND STEADINESS
For upland dogs, we will teach basic handling and casting commands to help your dog quarter a field. Pointing breeds will learn the "woah" command, while flushing dogs will be trained to sit or stand steady to the flush. All dogs will be trained to remain steady to the shot and wait for release before the retrieve. Upon request, waterfowl dogs will advance to more complex casting for blind retrieves and steady themselves for multiple marks.
PUTTING IT ALL TOGETHER
Graduates of our Board & Train program will receive a complimentary training session upon pickup to guide owners on how to work with their dog. For an additional fee, we recommend scheduling at least one field session in a controlled environment, where we use specialized equipment and real birds to reinforce learned commands. This controlled setup simulates actual hunting, ensuring your dog’s success and boosting both their confidence and yours as the handler.
