About Waylyn & Asa

Our Puppy Program

Puppies are $2,500 with a $500 non-refundable reservation fee required. All puppies from this litter will have a 28-month health guarantee and priority placement in either our board & train or 1:1 training programs. We are also offering a training incentive to owners that bring their puppies back to us for bird-dog training. Since we are not a kennel; our training schedule will be offered as first come first served.
Our Commitment to our Puppies:

Puppy’s brains undergo huge development (growing 700%!) from their third trimester of pregnancy through 5 weeks old. This puts a lot of responsibility on the breeder to provide proper stimulation, exposure, and reinforcement of good behaviors to set your puppy up for life with the skills they need to thrive. We will passionately devote ~400 hours of our time in just their first 8 weeks of life developing every puppy in the litter. Through extensive research and learning we created a thorough puppy program that we are proud of and will ensure that all puppies raised by Guns Up Dog Training go to their new homes set up to succeed in all their life ventures!

Rule of Sevens:

Developed in the 1980s by Pat Hastings. This method encourages socialization through experiences that are kept safe and positive. The basis for the Rule of Sevens is not specific training but simple exposure in a supervised environment prior to 7 weeks of age. Research concludes that a dog's adult personality is 35% dependent upon hereditary factors and 65% is shaped by their environmental experiences. This leaves an enormous responsibility to breeders. By 7 weeks of age the puppy should have experienced the following:

 1. 7 different types of surfaces: wood, carpet, tile, linoleum, concrete, etc.

 2. 7 different types of objects: ropes, plush toys, sticks, metal items, etc.

 3. 7 different locations: front & back yard, fields, kitchen, truck, garage, etc.

 4. 7 new people: include children and senior adults.

 5. 7 challenges: climb on a log, go through a tunnel, climb up/down steps, climb over obstacles, swimin the pond etc.

 6. 7 different food containers: metal, plastic, human hands, bucket, elevated dish, etc.

 7. 7 different feeding locations: crate, yard, exercise pen, basement, laundry room, etc
